ABOUT THE RIDE
It's beautiful...it's challenging...it's a bucket-list Bay Area ride through Coastal Redwoods for a great cause! Rally your club members or friends for this annual DIY ride, to be completed on your own from July 3 - 19.
Set out from the iconic Bike Hut rest stop (a world famous cycling treasure), rolling down Tunitas Creek Road through coastal farms and scenic countryside before starting the ascent through the Redwoods with switchbacks and stunning forest views. Climb 1900 feet in elevation and 8.3 miles to Skyline Boulevard, all while supporting Abundant Grace Coastside Worker! Make it an out-and-back from the top or bottom of Tunitas...or add it to a larger ride from over the hill or up the Coast.
One hundred percent of proceeds go to Abundant Grace as we hire the homeless community to work at Potrero Nuevo Farm (behind the Bike Hut). The organic produce is donated to low-income families, and participants earn money while giving back to the community.
Registration includes a limited edition t-shirt and entry to our Ride Reception on Saturday, July 25 with ice cream sundaes, podium photos, and live music. Top riders earn prizes and get their name on a plaque inside the Bike Hut, as will the bike club that raises the most funds.

While registering, you'll get a personal fundraising page that you can link to your bike club and share with friends and family. Feel good knowing you're supporting people experiencing homelessness who work on the farm behind The Bike Hut through Abundant Grace. Fundraising and referrals also earn serious swag like jerseys, socks and hoodies!
DIY RIDE (JULY 3 - 19)
Complete the Tunitas climb on your own between July 3rd and the 19th. Ride to be the fastest in your category or ride for fun...ride solo, with your club, with friends or with the Women's Yoga & Ride we're organizing for Saturday, July 11. Ride as many times as you like! *Competitive times and anyone wanting to be on the leaderboard must sumbit a ride time on the Event Site Results Page.
SUBMIT YOUR TIME
Record your best time on the RunSignup Results Page. Please note, you MUST submit your time to appear on our leaderboard. We will confirm competitive times on Strava, so follow our guidelines to make sure your time is properly submitted. Top times in each age category will be forever displayed on a prominent plaque inside The Bike Hut for all to see! E-bikes are encouraged to participant but will not be counted in the leaderboard.
RIDE RECEPTION
Stop by the farm behind The Bike Hut (1045 Tunitas Creek Rd; Half Moon Bay) between 10am and noon on Saturday, July 25 to pick up your T-shirt, see the fastest times in each category, enjoy ice cream sundaes and live music, and meet the staff at Abundant Grace Coastside Worker. You won't want to miss the chance to take a seflie on our red-and-white-striped podium! This is also when we will honor the bike club that raises the most funds for Abundant Grace (through registration, donation, sponsorship and fundraising)!
RAISING FUNDS FOR ABUNDANT GRACE
All proceeds from the Bike Hut Classic go to Abundant Grace Coastside Worker to address the homeless crisis on the Coast.
Highlights of our impact:
- Four times per week programming at Potrero Nuevo Farm (behind The Bike Hut), growing 20,000 pounds of produce annually to give away for free to low-income families.
- Farm Apprenticeship that teaches job skills and includes extensive goal setting.
- Conservation Crew in which participants learn about their personal environmental impact while doing land stewardship projects on the farm.
- Coastside Clean Team cleans trash from our trails, parks and beaches.
- Workforce Development Center provides resources to folks who desperately need them.
- Together, our programs and support build rich community amongst our homeless neighbors and let them know that they are not alone.
